Conclusion
The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 dramatically changed the lives of many disabled citizens. After a hard-fought battle, the disabled finally gained the rights that had been denied them for decades. The long untapped potential and diverse perspectives of the disabled are now contributing to the socio-economic structure of our nation. The ADA brings the “American Dream” closer for many and is rightfully referred to as the "Emancipation Proclamation for the Disabled".
